What I Eat in a Day Backpacking
What I eat while out on a backpacking trip varies greatly. It depends on how many days I'll be hiking, how difficult the terrain and what time of year I'm going.

In this video, I did an overnight backpacking trip in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with my friend Angela. On this trip, I show you what I eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. I even include a breakfast oatmeal recipe!
The key to what you eat while backpacking should be focused around getting enough protein, fats and carbohydrates and enough calories to sustain energy throughout your hike. I personally like to carry things that are more lightweight and don't take up too much space in my pack.
Because this was only an overnight trip, I chose to carry food I normally wouldn't take on a backpacking trip. Ultimately, the food you carry is up to you but hopefully this video gives you some ideas on what you can take on your next backpacking trip.
