About Me

Hi I’m Gretchen also known by my trail name Braids! I’ve hiked over 4500 miles, completing all the trails in the Great Smoky Mountains (GSMNP 900 Miler) and I thru hiked the 2,193 miles of the Appalachian Trail in 2020 and the Foothills Trail in 2021. My dream is to continue doing long distance hikes and taking you along with me in my videos.

I love hiking, backpacking, gear, the outdoors and many things in between – and I don’t always wear braids.

My hope is to inspire and encourage you to get out in nature and maybe even live a more simplistic lifestyle. You can really learn what you’re made of getting out and spending a little time in nature. Thanks so much for your support and for being here!
